About

Tarran Samantha Sanders was born in Johannesburg South Africa in 1980.

Her artistic talent was evident from a young age when she was disciplined for drawing a nude that was "too realistic" for her teacher’s comfort. Whilst at primary school her talent was again recognised and she was pushed from Grade 2 up to Standard 2 (Grade 4) art classes. From there on she continued to calligraphy classes after school and extracurricular art clubs and finally to graphic design as a career. Tarran works predominantly in mediums of pencil, pen, Scratchboard and paint, but has recently extended her range to include Digital Painting and has begun applying this technique to some of her subject matter.

Tarran completed an N6 art diploma at Roodepoort College Art Academy in 2001 where she was nationally recognised for achieving the highest marks overall in painting and art history during final moderations. The course included sculpture, print, drawing, painting, graphics, history and entrepreneurship.

Although she has done private commissioned works since graduating and worked as a graphic artist and designer for 20+ years Tarran is currently growing a custom art and design business in the West Rand of Johannesburg Called

Nib and Bristle.
